UW HCDE 501 Theoretical Foundations of Human Centered Design and Engineering

Summary

For my Theoretical Foundations of Human Centered Design and Engineering course, my group created a website to describe the application of three HCI theories to Google Maps. The theories we explored were distributed cognition, semiotic engineering, and feminist HCI.

Problem

For this assignment, we were asked to choose a web-based technology and to analyze that technology from the perspective of three or more human-computer interaction theories, focusing on the unique insights that each theory helps reveal.
